Come Celebrate 35 Years of Excellence at the October 5th FUN FEST

Thank you to everyone - students, faculty, staff, the steering committee and to our wonderful President Dr. James T. Willerson who made the 2007 FUN FEST a success! Over thirty five years of growth and excellence in teaching and research was celebrated at the October 5, 2007 FUN FEST.  The students, faculty and staff of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston gather annually to enjoy an afternoon of fun, food and fellowship from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Edwin Hornberger Conference Center, 2151 West Holcombe Blvd., at the corner of Pressler St.

The Office of the President provides this opportunity for those at all six schools and the other components to get together.  The 35-member volunteer FUN FEST committee chose a Hawaiian Luau theme. Luau leis were given to the first 1,500 people who checked in.

Popular DJ Philip Pampelino returned this year to entertain everyone with a constant mix of music hits to keep guests dancing at the giant party.  An interesting mix of food selections was served throughout the afternoon.

Each year Dr. Willerson looks forward to the opportunity to personally thank all who work and study at the health science center, with a special thank you to the key volunteers who give their time and talents.
